The Department of Computer Engineering, Ashokrao Mane Polytechnic, Vathar Tarf Vadgaon organized an Industrial Visit to INCOIS (Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services), Hyderabad on 9th March 2026 for the students of Third Year Computer Engineering.
A total of 103 students participated in this visit along with faculty members. The main objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to real-world technological applications, particularly in the areas of ocean data analysis, satellite communication, disaster warning systems, and information technology services.
During the visit, students were introduced to the various departments and advanced technological systems used at INCOIS. Experts explained how oceanographic data is collected through satellites, buoys, and sensors and processed using advanced computer systems. Students also learned how this data is used for tsunami warning systems, ocean state forecasting, and providing weather-related information to coastal regions.
The session also highlighted the role of computer science, supercomputing, data processing, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in monitoring ocean conditions and supporting marine research.
After the presentation, an interactive Question and Answer (Q&A) session was conducted. Students actively asked questions related to ocean data processing, tsunami detection systems, satellite technologies, and career opportunities in research organizations like INCOIS. The experts provided detailed answers and valuable insights about the application of technology in scientific research and disaster management.
Overall, the industrial visit to INCOIS, Hyderabad proved to be a highly informative and enriching experience for the students. The visit helped them understand the practical implementation of computer engineering in scientific research and real-world technological applications.
The successful organization of this industrial visit was made possible due to the valuable guidance, motivation, and continuous support of Principal Dr. Y. R. Gurav Sir. His vision to encourage practical learning, industry exposure, and skill development among students continues to inspire both students and faculty members to participate in such educational activities that enhance technical knowledge and real-world understanding.
The activity was conducted under the leadership of Head of Department Dr. S. A. Lakade.
The visit was successfully coordinated with the help of faculty members - Mr. A. U. Chavan (Industrial Visit Coordinator), Mr. S. K. Sutar, Mr. A. A. Mulla, Mrs. G. A. Chavan, Miss J. A. Jadhav, and Mrs. J. A. Chougule, making it a highly informative and enriching learning experience for the students.
